Out of District 2025-26 GCCISD 2nd Round High School Options Application

Thank you for your interest in the high school options that GCCISD offers to incoming 9th grade students! Every 8th grade student who is interested in attending one of the following High School Options in Goose Creek CISD is invited to complete this application. Students in 8th grade during the 2024-25 school year are eligible to apply for UP TO THREE High School Options.

In order to maintain the smaller learning community that makes students in each of these High School Options successful, the number of students accepted into each High School Option is limited. Therefore, applicants may apply for their first choice, second choice, and third choice among these High School Options in this application. All efforts will be made to match students to their first choice, however final decisions will be determined by the number of applications for each High School Option. When more students apply for a High School Option than can be accommodated, a performance-blind, open-access lottery system will be used to select students.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A "2ND ROUND APPLICATION." APPLICATIONS WILL BE REVIEWED ON A 1ST COME/1ST SERVED BASIS ONLY WHEN SPACES OPEN IN  ONE OF THE HIGH SCHOOL OPTIONS. ALL STUDENTS WHO WERE PUT ON A WAIT LIST DURING THE 1ST ROUND WILL BE PLACED BEFORE THESE APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED. The application deadline is Friday, March 7, 2025 at 11:59pm. Once the application is submitted, it can be edited until this deadline. Please be sure all sections of the application have been completed prior to submitting. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Once you have saved and submitted your application you should be directed to a screen indicating that you have submitted and providing contact information for HS Options representatives who can answer questions or provide additional information.

Be careful to avoid errors when entering your information, because this could cause you not to receive information or not be included in the selection process.

IMPACT Early College High School 2025-2026 School Year Application

The following are considered MANDATORY for the application to be considered complete and for the student to be included in the selection process:

Students must read and sign Student Expectations Section

Parents must read and sign Parent Expectations Section

Student applying must be a resident of Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District attendance zone, or eligible for enrollment due to parental employment in GCCISD

IMPACT Early College High School is a unique school specifically designed to offer a rigorous and demanding curriculum designed for motivated students with the ability to handle an Honors/AP high school curriculum while simultaneously earning college credit hours. Students are expected to earn a minimum of 30 college credit hours while attending IMPACT while working towards the goal of earning an associate degree from Lee College. Students must be willing to work hard, attend tutorial sessions, and be dedicated in order to complete both high school and college work. Our school redefines the typical comprehensive high school experience into an academically oriented small school setting housed on its own campus and within walking distance of Lee College.
General Acknowledgements

The process for selecting students for admission into IMPACT Early College High School is as follows:

A blind lottery process will be used to select the students for admission.

Students will be placed on a waiting list and will be contacted if any students selected from the lottery decline the offer to attend IMPACT.

Private school students may apply and will be included in the pool of applicants from the middle school they are zoned to attend.

To be considered for admission, students must meet ALL requirements for promotion from 8th grade to 9th grade.

If selected to attend IMPACT, students must attend a Summer Bridge Program and a TSI Camp during the summer break.

IMPACT operates on a calendar like Lee College. IMPACT students enrolled in college classes are expected to attend those classes on all days, even when GCCISD has student holidays, but Lee College does not. On GCCISD holidays, students must arrange their own transportation to college classes.

Athletics/Fine Arts are not offered on the IMPACT Early College High School campus; participation is allowed on a limited basis at the students’ zoned high school campus. Academic performance takes priority over any extra-curricular activities; students who are failing classes will not be allowed to continue participation in those activities.

If selected, students who are currently on an Individual Education Plan (IEP) or 504 modification plan will meet to ensure that required supports are in place.

IMPACT students must be prepared to do two to three hours of homework each evening that will be at the Honors/AP level and/or college level coursework.
Student Expectations & Agreement Section:

IMPACT ECHS students are expected to:

* Maintain satisfactory attendance in keeping with GCCISD and Lee College guidelines.

* Abide by GCCISD and Lee College Code of Conduct, Dress Code, and Academic Honesty Policy.

* Behave maturely, safely, and respectfully in all school and community environments.

* Cooperate with IMPACT ECHS staff, Lee College staff, visitors and peers at all times.

* Understand that once I enroll at IMPACT ECHS, I may not transfer to another school in the district until the end of at least one full semester unless required to do so due to academic status. This may occur at the end of the semester or school year.
Parent Expectations and Agreement Section:

As an IMPACT parent I will adhere to the following guidelines to help my student be successful:

* Attendance is critically important. Ensure your student is in school unless he/she is ill.

* Provide daily time (two – three hours) for your student to do homework without other responsibilities or distractions. (for example: cleaning the yard, caring for siblings, etc.)

* Check your student’s grades on-line regularly in Parent Portal and help or communicate concerns to an IMPACT Team Member if he/she is experiencing difficulty.

* Understand that it may not be practical for your student to hold an out-of-school job during the school year if too many work hours are required.

* Be available for conferences as needed.

* Provide your student with access to the internet to do assignments or contact the school for assistance.

* Acknowledge that IMPACT students in college classes will be exposed to college level material.

* Support your student by attending events and volunteering to help when possible.

* Understand that lack of academic improvement or growth may result in a student losing his/her placement at IMPACT ECHS.

* Understand that once my student is enrolled at IMPACT ECHS, they may not transfer to another school in the district until the end of at least one full semester unless required to do so due to academic status. This may occur at the end of the semester or school year.
